XXX The listing is for a non-running 1940 Indian Four motorcycle with matching era sidecar.
Why? Bought it non-running to begin with and discovered the magneto cap & rotor needed replacing. As of 9/1/24 a cap/rotor/coil cover have been bought but not installed as yet due to time and other projects.
During my 1 year ownership this is what the seller has done or added:
1. A chrome rear "Defender" bumper is now mounted
2. The sidecar windshield items were bought. Both a windshield & side car body seating cover is now done!
3. A Indian Feather chrome horn with horn backing plate replaced the incorrect horn
4. Magneto cap, Coil Cap & Rotor were acquired
5. Fuel line was plugged at the petcock. Now has good fuel source.
6. No 6 v battery is currently installed. This is a "magneto" starting bike per the Engine Vin # & stamp indicating M for Magneto.
7. Oil has been replaced as of 8/7/2024
8. A Cast Iron luggage rack for the back fender was purchased. If price is met, it sells with the Four
9. Carburetor installed? Linkert M18 that is NOT correct but told it will work fine.
Too many other projects/hobbies has meant little time has been spent on the bike.
**Note** The cases do not have any weldment cracks.
Partial trade considered toward a new 3/4 ton truck of equal or slightly higher value.
No interest in "any" other motorcycle (possibly a later year Indian trike)
No interest in any trailer other than possibly a 20 ft Featherlite enclosed car hauler.
Possibly a ramp truck in decent condition with cash to boot!
