LEMONS HEADERS INC.
’67-’69 CAMARO- ’68-’74 NOVA- BB PRO-TOUR
Stock chassis with stock steering box
PART # BBPT-600
Header Spec’s:
This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ¼” and collector sizes up to 4”. All of the tubes are inside the frame. All of our headers are hand made to order, so we can build them for any engine deck height and for any aftermarket cylinder head in any tube size you need, stepped or not.
What Fits:This header has excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. On our design car we used a Milodon low pro file oil pan #30951 or #30956. These 2 Milodon pans allow for easy access to the oil filter. The bottom of our header is ¼” higher than the bottom of the pan. Measuring from a stock oil pan we have 2” of room at the top and 3” of room at the bottom of the oil pan on both sides for sump kick outs. With no pan kick outs the oil filter will easily drop out the bottom. Some oil pans with a kick out sump under the filter, depending on the size of the kick out may block the filter from coming out.
This header will fit any stock GM steering box and the DSE 600 steering box. It will fit up to a 9” power brake booster and clutch linkage, but it will NOT fit a factory air conditioning box on the fire wall or column shifter linkage or column lock out linkage. If you are using a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge below the starter area to clear the top inside header tube.
This header will fit with Big Block or Small Block motor mounts and will also fit a mid motor plate. The stock front motor mount frame stand on the driver side hangs over the back of the “K” member about ¾”. We recommend that you trim the top back corner of this frame stand for header room and easier installation See attached photo. This header requires a mini starter. The Milodon #30951 and #30956 oil pans offer easy access to the oil filter.
Installing the headers:
Pro-Tour Style: If the header is built in a pro-tour style, all one piece with collectors welded on, they should be installed as the engine is installed. Or you can unbolt the steering box from the frame, leave the steering linkage attached and let the box hang down out of the way, then install the driver side from the bottom. The passenger side also installs from the bottom. You will have to remove the starter until the header is up in place, just start the first header bolt to hold the header as you install the starter.
You may have to raise the engine on each side slightly.

Race Style:
Driver side: Install tubes #1 and #3 from the top at the same time and start header bolts, do not tighten. If you have a kick out oil pan you may need to raise the engine about 1” to get these 2 tubes in. Next install #7 from the bottom and start header bolts. Last install #5 from the top. With all tubes in and header bolts snug but not tight install slip on collectors and bolt them in place then tighten all header bolts.
On the passenger side with the starter in place repeat the same sequence, #2, #4, #8 #6.
Refer to our Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page for additional information, it will make installing the headers easier, and save you time.
