1971 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster 454 Big Block Numbers Matching Convertible 454 unrestored classic American sports car
This Corvette has the genuine classic looks and is real head turner where ever it goes. They are only original once. Keep that in mind as you examine this GM time capsule, originally built in May 1971. There are a lot of C-3 Corvettes, there are a few 454 cars, there are even fewer that are numbers matching, stem to stern (engine, transmission and rear end), there are even fewer automatics and the rarest of the rare are the un-restored cars that are still in good driver condition. This is one of those cars. This Big Block 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is a blue chip investment grade fantastic example of the C3. It is beautiful, unrestored and a believed all original car.
Glossy “972 Classic White” paint with a clean Black Soft Convertible Top in good shape and featuring a clean frame and birdcage. This Corvette has been repainted a long time ago, which is in driver condition with typical and expected chips and blemishes which I will leave to her next caretaker to decide whether or not to have it touched up or re-painted properly. 15X8 Rear and 15X7 Front Factory GM Rally Wheels, BF Goodrich Raised White Letter Belted T/A tires are older and in fair condition. Original gas cap. The vacuum operated headlights and wipers/wiper door perform as they should. The badges and bright work all shine and look fantastic.
The car has its born with numbers matching 454 and it runs and drives fantastic with an upgraded LS6 aluminum intake manifold and matching rectangular port iron heads. It also has a upgraded mild hydraulic performance cam and Pete Jackson Gear Drives, Timing Gear Drive Set. The engine was rebuilt in 1985 and only has 1000 miles on the professional build. Stainless Steel headers add extra power while also feeding an aftermarket set of baffled side pipes under a set of factory correct side pipe covers. Engine oil is always changed regularly with 5w30 with a proper Zinc additive. The rare optional Turbo 400 3-speed was professionally rebuilt with a shift kit 3 years ago and shifts like new.
The original AM/FM radio still picks up all the best classic rock and country stations. Three-spoke telescopic and tilt steering wheel. The tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure and battery gauges operate. The ignition sometimes does not turn the first time you attempt to start the car, it might need a new key cut. The speedometer needs a new cable. The drivers side door handle requires repairs. The seats with Gray Inserts have some wear, but no major tears. The clock in the dash does not operate. Odometer shows 49k miles. Battery (behind the driver) has kill switch that is great for storage and car shows, leaving no worries of battery dying. The fiber optics still work.
This Corvette features the numbers matching 454 with the Turbo 3 speed automatic. AM/FM radio, Posi-traction rear, fully independent suspension and power all wheel stainless steel disc brakes.
