1984 Cadillac Biarritz Convertible
Cadillac is a name synonymous with luxury and from 1952 to 2002 their Eldorado was always top of the line. It refers to the mythical "Lost City of Gold" and evolved throughout time with 12 distinct generations. The Biarritz trim level was added on and named for a luxury resort in Southern France. This very nice 1984 belongs to the 10th generation and set an all time Eldorado sales record with the coupes/convertibles combined accounting for approximately 26% of all Cadillacs sold so they obviously had a hit on their hands. This would also be the first time Cadillac offered a convertible in 8 years and a grand total of 3,300 were made! This very nice convertible is painted in a nice White which has a clean finish and is paired with a White retractable top. The top is in great condition and raises/lowers with ease. This was a time where cars still wore a lot of chrome accents and this one has its original chrome front/rear bumpers and the iconic square chrome grill framed with double rectangular headlights. The glass is in good condition throughout with no issues. It wears all of its original Biarritz emblems and the classic Cadillac logo hood ornaments. It has a nice stance and rides on original Cadillac wheels (not hubcaps) wrapped with new P225/70R15 thin White wall tires that have plenty of tread left.
Under the hood is a fuel injected V8 motor that runs great and powers this large Caddy down the road with no problems. Mechanically the car is all stock and runs well. The 4 speed automatic w/electronic overdrive was introduced in '84 and this one shifts smoothly with no problems. Being a Cadillac it has all the latest and greatest luxuries in '84 so has all power options and everything works. The battery was recently replaced and the air ride has been upgraded. IT also has a new AC system with compressor and a new steering box with pitman arm.
Nicely paired with White exterior is the Carmine Red leather interior which is in great shape. It is all original and has its factory diamond tuck style upholstery. It has dual front bucket seats with headrests with Cadillac emblem embroidery on both the front and rear. It features wood grain accents throughout and when not in use the White type hides beneath a Red leather parade boot. The dash has all of its stock componentry including the AC/Heat controls, cruise control switch and information center. They were pretty advanced for their time. The stereo system has been redone with a new bluetooth radio and new speakers. The trunk is all nicely upholstered as well. It offers a ton of storage space and houses the original spare with cover.
The car comes with a copy of the window sticker and a clear title. This collectable vintage Caddy has clearly been well cared for since new and is ready for a new garage to call home.
